Wage: $26.50 /h
VIVA! Art Action is looking for a reliable, creative and outgoing person to manage communications for the upcoming 9th edition of the festival, which will take place in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal from 06 to 11 October, 2025. Under the supervision of the director and in collaboration with the graphic designers, the person will be responsible for all communications relating to the festival before, during and after the event. This includes being responsible for the festival’s website, social media platforms, newsletter, various promotional tools and press relations. In addition, and as long as working hours will allow, the person will also provide general production support during the festival period.
The contract provides for up to 200 hours of work. The start date is 14 July 2025 and the end date is 31 October 2025, but a large proportion of the work will take place around the period of the festival. Candidates will therefore work a very flexible schedule and must be available full-time between the 1st and 20th of October.
Required skills :
– knowledge of the local art scene, contemporary art, performance art and related practices;
– experience working in the field of communications;
– good knowledge of the various social network platforms, as well as WordPress and Mailchimp;
– excellent French writing skills;
– good English writing skills;
– versatile, with a sense of initiative, attention to detail and follow-up;
– good interpersonal skills, team spirit;
– Sense of judgement and initiative; high degree of autonomy and ability to self-manage time;
– ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
Tasks and responsibilities:
– creating a communications plan and ensure its implementation;
– writing a press release and compiling essential elements such as photos, and details of the programming and artists;
– participating in data entry to feed the festival website and managing the necessary content updates;
– ensuring effective distribution of the various promotional tools;
– ensuring that our social media accounts are effectively activated and animated;
– creating and managing the festival’s newsletter campaign, which includes writing clear, concise and engaging texts as well as collecting various other content: images, menus, etc.;
– responding to requests for information and ensuring the clarity and coherence of messages conveyed to audiences and to the media;
– compiling a press kit and measuring the impact of our activities.
