SURVIVRA! is an evening of action art that aims to collect funds necessary for the production of the 6th edition of VIVA! Art Action, scheduled to take place the first week of October 2017. This festive evening will highlight the importance of Montreal’s only performance art biennale, which has supported, showcased, and connected a growing community of local, national, and international art action practitioners since 2006.

During the evening, five performers will present actions inspired by the performances they presented at previous editions of VIVA!

PERFORMERS:
\\ Alexis Bellavance
\\ Danny Gaudreault
\\ Marlène Renaud-B.
\\ karen elaine spencer

PERFORMANCE RAFFLE: Rachel Echenberg
The Performance Raffle invites the public to place a bet on the duration of a performance. The person whose guess is closest to the actual duration will win half of the money raised in the raffle!

VIVA! is strongly committed to keeping its festival free and therefore accessible. Your attendance at this event and your online donations (http://vivamontreal.org/ – Support tab), ensure that we can continue to offer thought-provoking artistic experiences to the public, and professional conditions to our artists and staff.

We regret that the venue is not wheelchair accessible. For all other questions regarding accessibility, please contact: info@news.vivamontreal.org

BIOS:

Alexis Bellavance lives and works in Montreal. He likes moving air. http://abellavance.blogspot.ca/

Danny Gaudreault is an interdisciplinary artist based in Montreal. Over the past fifteen years, he has presented his work in performance art festivals and events across Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Québec, Saguenay) as well as in Helsinki, Finland. Gaudreault is currently focused on archiving the performative process, particularly via different social media platforms. #tonotdiealone #BACKSPACE www.tonotdiealone.tumblr.com

Marlène Renaud-B.’s performative practice is marked by echo and the dissolution of the individual within their constructed, natural and political environment. A native of Laval-sur-l’asphalte, she is particularly fond of interstitial spaces with transgressive potential, and physically demanding precarious situations. www.marlenerenaudb.com

karen elaine spencer karen elaine spencer likes oranges: their size (easy to fit into a pocket), their taste (so sweet with just the right amount of twang), their smell (bergamot,) their shape (no sharp edges, corners or nasty prickles) but most importantly, their skin (a gorgeous colour, easy to peel, and protects the flesh inside.) no wonder the orange used to be called the golden apple. https://likewritingwithwater.wordpress.com/
